Now in their 41st year, The WhatHouse awards saw over 600 representatives from the housebuilding and built to rent sector come together at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday 18th November. Dandara Living’s flagship Chapel Wharf development in Salford took the top spot in the ‘Best Build to Rent Project’ category, which was presented by the former Leader of the Conservative Party Lord William Hague and England Rugby World Cup winner and broadcaster Maggie Alphonsi MBE.

The 995-unit development, which occupies a prime location just 5 minutes’ walk from Manchester’s Spinningfields district, features a mix of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and an extensive range of resident amenities including 2,300sqft gym, two house kitchens, and bookable dining and screening rooms.

In their report, the judges described Chapel Wharf as ‘An excellent and award-winning all-round BTR offering”, and also paid tribute to the contributions of the on-site team, saying:

It’s clear that the resident experience, with a team of housekeeping, maintenance, and customer service personnel, is central to the Dandara offering here, putting kitchens and dining spaces at the heart of the building socially, as well as plenty of health and wellbeing with the gym and a range of fitness classes available.
